What is acne?

Acne is a skin condition affecting the oil glands in the skin characterised by chronic inflammation. It usually appears as red pimples, whiteheads, blackheads and sometimes even pustules, which contain an oozing puss-like substance. It is most common during teenage but may continue until the late 20s or beyond. You can consider getting pimple treatments if you are experiencing one or all of the following symptoms of acne

  • Red bumps or pimples on the skin
  • Clogged pores are also known as blackheads or whiteheads
  • Deep pimples and boils of cystic acne, also called cysts
